Yes I know that the parent wrote "daughter" but the incident at the school that the parent was discussing involved her son. The parent tried to throw off the scent by stating it involved her daughter. I guess I too would be upset if my child was expelled from a school for speaking his/her mind, but when that freedom of speech starts to infringe on the lives of others like Virginia Tech, I agree completely with the actions of the administrators of the school to remove this student." --guest

I am glad that your student is not allowed to attend my school for making comments about Virginia Tech and Columbine... as far as I heard from my child is that your son was bragging to the other students that he was going to repeat what happened at Virginia Tech but at my child's school. My daughter goes to Desert Rose Academy. I am wondering why the kids in this school are not aloud to talk about Columbine or the shooting in Virginia? Maybe this is why things like THIS happen because the old adeg "children are to be seen and not heard" doesnt fly in this day and age. What can we do about this? And the Principal in this school says its a RULE not to speak of it.I do not see this in the handbook? There should be an assembly for all the Kids to speak on this, Im sure it would help them understand better. Communication is a very big part of life no matter how old you are, you should NEVER be made to keep silent! These are the kids that are OUR LEADERS of tomorrow! Something needs to be done! I have left to messages at Admin and so far no responce? ?????" --guest
