[client responded contradicting the studio's statements regarding the separate track and other issues. However bear in mind there is some unequal playing field here as the studio is identified and the client is not. bTucson does not have any information as to the veracity of any statements]
The client brought in a multi-track project. Budget was a non-issue and studio was well aware of this. The client expected the project to be held in highest regard, mixed properly and to industry standard, and was willing and able to pay for such. The client simply wanted the music professionally mixed and mastered and expected such to be done, as one would reasonably expect the functions of a recording studio to be performed. There were no pre-recorded or pre-layered audio tracks in this mix, and all tracks were recorded by client individually, regardless of how inferior studio believes the client's instrument to be. The fact is that the project was multi-track. No one from this studio recommended recording any tracks separately. In fact, this was never suggested, even when questioned by client. Studio stated they were operating on new and unfamiliar software. This studio most definitely did NOT record six albums for client. And no, this studio was not contacted to do any further work for this client. A vocalist that was hired to lay down a vocal track suggested that she would like to do it there and she later declined because of studio’s lack of business etiquette, complete unprofessionalism, and statement that this studio might consider such only because they could certainly use the money. If this studio's work was satisfactory for this client, there would be no need to waste time leaving a comment about these services. There is no animosity. There is no bad intention here. There is only the truth that these projects were handled in a non-professional manner for whatever reason studio decides to justify such in their mind. Perhaps this studio treats other projects with care and respect. This was simply not the case here and these things do happen. This former client certainly wishes this studio good luck. --guest

Allusion Studios provides services for a wide variety of clients. Unfortunately, situations arise where the client expects more from the recording process than is possible given the client's equipment and budget. In this case the client brought in a consumer-level keyboard which contained pre-recorded and pre-layered audio tracks. We recommended recording the tracks separately, rather than all at once to allow traditional mixing in the studio. The client turned down our suggestions and we obliged. We recorded 6 albums for the client in this fashion over an 8 month period. Each album was mixed and fully mastered to the extent possible, which the client approved of and (to our knowledge) was satisfied with. All of these services were performed at a very reasonable cost of less than $200 per album.
At Allusion Studios, we always offer suggestions to improve a project, but we understand that the client is the producer, and as such ultimately makes all final decisions. We have been contacted several times over the past 2 years to do more work for this client, but have politely chosen to decline services as a result of this client's prior and ongoing lack business etiquette. We are happy for all of Mrs. Garris' accomplishments, just as we are for all former clients who find success and happiness in music.

I came to Allusion Studios in 2005 with work done on a keyboard in several tracks. This work was downloaded at this studio as one track, not mixed at all, and virtually sent out to the world as "naked." Volumes were then raised to one level, supposedly constituting "mastering" however nothing else was done. And I was charged top dollar for this service. Nothing was mixed and nothing was truly mastered. This person may have done other wonderful things for other people in the music industry that were above board, however, my experience here was that my work was treated as completely inconsequential and the minimum was done and charged at top dollar. This is incomprehensible! As a #1 charting New Age artist I have of course since then redone all of what was done here at this studio. Save yourself some time, effort, and money and go elsewhere. I do not recommend this studio or this person to anyone who cares about their work and what they are putting out there to the world.
