Tucson Park Baptist Church is a non-traditional, though Biblical, Independent Baptist Church. We identify with the poor cast out multitudes like Jesus Christ & His Apostles identified with in the Bible. Our traditional churches today more identify with the rich Pharisees and their Synogogues than Jesus' earthly ministry. Every preacher will have to give an account to God for their ministry; just like every ruler will give an account for their reign or term of office. The traditional churches do a lot of good. However I am glad that our church identifies with the poor like Jesus did. When I appear before the Judgement Seat Of Jesus Christ I know that a small sacrifice in this life is going to be far better than suffering shame for selfish, shoddy service. Cf. II Corinthians 5:8-11.
December 15th 1996, Brother Don White founded Tucson Park Baptist Church in Santa Rita Park. The Greek word that is translated church in the New Testament means, assembly. The local church is not a building it is the assembly of people. The Lord Jesus, His Apostles, and the First Century Church members assembled in public places and in their homes. Jesus never said build church buildings. Our giving is supposed to be for the necessity of the saints and the Gospel ministry. Church buildings can indeed facilitate the Gospel ministry.
I personally believe the social entropy of the local church began when the Apostles quit serving tables. Jesus said, "Feed my sheep." The disciples fed the multitudes bread & fish and Jesus gave out the spiritual bread of life; i.e. His Word.
What? Old fashioned KJV Bible preaching with Evangelist Don R. White. Free door prizes and refreshments as the Lord provides. Since the Fall of 2007 we have been serving polish sausages on a bun with assorted condiments, chips & cookies, cold bottled water, coffee or hot chocolate.
Donations: We have found in the mild winters at Tucson Park Baptist Church, the fleese type gloves you find at the dollar stores are appreciated as well as: socks large, calf or knee sized. Read Matthew chapter 25. When we give to the least of the Lord's Brethren we have given to Christ. Don't give your worn out crap (yep, I said crap) to Jesus. The wicked Pharisees won't give to the down & out because Matthew chapter 25 is the Judgement of the nations. Of course it is. But, nations are comprised of individuals like us or US, amen. The full context of Scripture gives us a Biblical principle to help people in need like, the Good Samaritan, Luke 10:33. The most disobeyed verses in the Bible always have to do with money and sacrifice. The love of money is plain old selfishness, amen!
Other donations: Non-perishable food items; sleeping bags; cash; gift cards; what would you want if you found yourself homeless and on the streets of Tucson, Arizona? I would want money. When we give alms as the Lord commanded, we have fulfilled our duty. What the poor person does with the alms they receive is between them and God. Of course we must deny charity if a person tells us they intend to do something sinful with it, cf. I Corinthians 13:4-6, KJV. Only the KJV uses the word charity. New Age Bible perversions change the word to Love. Charity means sacrificial giving to those who do not deserve it nor will ever pay you back. Wicked money loving wolves in sheep's clothing or those without spiritual understanding of the Scriptures want to intercept charity to line their own pockets. Cf. Luke 12:33.
When was the last time you heard anyone preach on I Timothy 6:10, KJV?
Who? Everyone is welcome! This is your personal invitation to join us.
When? Lord willing, Sunday afternoon, at approx. 1 PM - ?
Inclement weather? There is cover for us at the Courthouse courtyard area under the porches. God makes it to rain on the just and the unjust. We pray for dry weather for our few hours of ministry; but bring an umbrella, amen. We trust the Weather Maker more than the weather man, amen!
Where? We begin our open-air church services with a church picnic on Pima County property; located at 115 N. Church; in the courtyard of Pima County Justice Courthouse,(by the fountain) Tucson, Arizona.
After lunch we walk accross Church Street, East, to the Public Park area South of the Main Public Library. There is plenty of seating available.
Why? Jesus Christ is the born again Bible Believer's example and He preached outside to the multitudes far more often than He did inside Synagogues or Temple, cf. I Peter 2:21-22. Every Born Again Bible Believer is part of the spiritual body of Christ, cf. I Corinthians 12:13. The local church is the temporal aspect of the body of Christ. The simplest form of a local church is where two or more are gathered in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, cf. Matthew 18:20, KJV.
Local Church Fellowship: New Testament Baptist Church, 2855 N. Craycroft Road (Glenn & Craycroft), Tucson, Arizona, 85712, Phone: (520)327-5938, Dr. J.C. Joiner, Pastor, Founder.
Note: Most of our assembly at Tucson Park Baptist Church are homeless, cast out people. There are usually good reasons why people in America find themselves homeless. Homelessness usually involves sinful, lifestyles of drug/alcohol abuse; crime; demon possessed; or feeble-mindedness. Some folks have just made some foolish financial decisions. Some folks have been betrayed by those they trusted. A few people simply got sick and lost their way. The assembly at Tucson Park Baptist Church is mostly made up of the homeless, cast out people. Some of the folks who come are desperate and dangerous. We try to never let a day go by without confessing our known sin, cf. I John 1:9; let alone assembly at Tucson Park Baptist Church; to do so would be foolhardy! If you want to attend Tucson Park Baptist Church, come prayed up. Glory to God!
Stats: Last year, for health reasons, we suspended our services at Santa Rita Park @ 22nd Street & Fourth Ave. from mid April till the first Sunday of Fall 2007. We have since then resumed meeting in front of the Main Library after lunch at the Courthouse courtyard.
In 2007 we had over two-hundred professions of faith in Jesus Christ to be saved from the penalty of sin in Hell. So far in January 2008 we have seen 32 professions of faith in Christ; with one man attending Reformers Unanimous addictions ministry at New Testament Baptist Church, Friday nights from 7PM till 9PM.
Alms: It is our custom to accept private donations to reimburse us for expenses; or love offerings from Independent Baptist Churches. We do not take up an offering. Occaisionally a homeless person will donate to the ministry. We demonstrate John 3:16 charity by giving alms (defined by Webster's as, "Money or food." God gave the best in Heaven to an undeserving world.
Spiritual Life Preserver from God's Preserved Word: Jesus Christ said that there is only one way for you to go to Heaven! John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
A merciful and just God created Hell for the Devil and the fallen angels. You do not have to go to Hell for your sin if you accept God's free gift of eternal life through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. If you reject God's merciful gift, God's justice will condemn you to an eternity in the Lake of Fire; which is the second death of the soul. Quit living in denial! The world, your own flesh, and the Devil himself will try to keep you distracted from the unsettling truth that one of these days or hours: you are going to die! Do you know, I mean, do you know for sure that you will go to Heaven when your time comes to die? Cf. Revelation 20:12; 21:8; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8 & 12: I John 5:13 & Psalm 12:6-7.
Do not delay, do what the Bible says and ask Jesus Christ to save you right now, before it is too late for you. Be willing to follow the steps of Christ's earthly ministry as best that you can. Admit you are a sinner. Believe that Jesus died for you, was buried, rose from the dead, and is in Heaven right now; ready and willing to forgive you of all your sin; past, present, and future. Cf. Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 6:23; 10:9-13.
Pray this the best you can: "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and believe your blood can cleanse me from all my sin. I repent and am willing to turn from my way and follow you. Please save me right now." /cf, John 1:12; 3:16 & 6:37.
Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." The Bible does not say maybe, it says shall be saved. Have you done what the Bible says (and we have taken nothing out of context)? Based upon what you prayed and what the Bible promises: are you saved? If you are still not sure, keep seeking with a sincere heart in God's Word, cf. Romans 10:17.
What's Next? Study and obey God's Word, cf. First John 1:9 (Until we die we are still sinners; but saved, born again by grace through faith). Keep your sins confessed to God to maintain close fellowship with your Heavenly Father. Ask the Holy Spirit of Christ to teach you and give you understanding of the Word of God which has been preserved for every race of people. For English speakers we have the Authorized or King James Version, cf. Psalm 12:6-7. Cf. II Timothy 2:15.
God bless you for your interest in Tucson Park Baptist Church. For His pleasure (Revelation 4:11) Brother Don R. White, Pastor, Founder, Psalm 126, KJV - End of Message. 01/29/08.
