Dear Friend,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today to ask for your generous help. I recently started a non-profit organization called "Burma Global Action Network (BGAN)" in October, 2007. As you know I was born in Burma and am Burmese, however I cannot go back to my country due to the horrible situation currently being endured by my people. The thing is 90% of Americans are not aware of the genocide, violations of basic human rights, out break of HIV & AIDS, Forced Labor, 2.5 internally displaced refugees, and World's largest recruit of child soldiers under the age of 16 and the list goes on. The best way I can put the situation in Burma in to perspective is to compare what was happening in Nazi Germany with the minorities back in the 1940, the horrible genocide in Rwanda Africa, the massacres and ethnic cleansing of Kosovo, and Darfur all roll into one.
The reason not many people know about Burma is because the military regime that rules Burma use all of their energy to keep the world out of Burma in every capacity to ensure the world's blind eye on the atrocities in Burma. Recently a major cyclone hit Burma and killed 200,000 people and counting for two reasons, one the military regime did not provide warning of the Cyclone to the people of Burma and second after 4 months since the cyclone hit most of the displaced victims still have not seen any aid because the military regime took the international cyclone aid for themselves. This country is in a horrible state and nothing is being done to fix these issues by the international community. The people of Burma are living below poverty line, they are starving and enduring the worst possible abuses to stand up for themselves.
The only way for these people to get help is for the international community, especially the United Nations to persecute the military regime in the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity and genocide. In order for this to happen the world's leaders have to come together and support this resolution and in order for that to happen we the world's citizens need to pressure our government to not turn their heads. There are many wonderful Burma organizations that are currently working on such initiatives and BGAN is partnering with them to receive success for such initiatives. These Burma organizations does not have the resources to reach the massive majority of the world so they turn to my organization BGAN for getting the word out there to the massive audience we have managed to obtain. We help highlight these organizations' efforts, the humanitarian efforts, as well as political efforts to one day save and free Burma.
Since we are a non profit organization we mainly rely on the generous donations from everyday people to continue our work. Today I am asking you for your generous contribution in support of my organization and the important work BGAN is doing to save the 50 million people of Burma. Any amount is more then what we can ask for. Your tax-deductible contribution to Burma Global Action Network will help bring global attention to the atrocities being endured daily by the innocent people of Burma. Our work will high light the murderous acts of the military Nazi like regime's horrendous crimes against humanity genocide, and war crimes imposed on the innocent people of Burma.

Best-
