2009-08-28 Oser Communications
I had the misfortune of agreeing to advertise with Oser Communications in their EdTech Show Daily Publication. The publication is due to be issued in the spring of 2010.
In February of 2009, during a trade show where we were exhibiting, I was approached by an Oser Communications sales rep to ask if we would like to advertise with them at next year's trade show. I didn't know 1 year in advance if we would be exhibiting at the following year's trade show, so I said this to their sales rep. He assured me that I could simply "hold" a space in the publication, which would hold the rate and hold a spot for me, but was not a committment to advertise.
In August, I received an invoice for the ad (which wasn't being published for another 6 months) and told I had 30 days to pay.
I emailed and phoned Oser Communications several times to explain what was said to me and finnaly received this threatening email from their Senior Partner:
"We have a signed contract that is non-cancelable and enforceable. It
states in the contract that customer agrees to pay all fees
associated with non-payment.
If we do not get this resolved by end of business
day today then you'll end up owing much much more.
I trust that you'll make the smart decision."
All I have been asking for in my emails and phone calls was a response to my comment about what their sales representative promised me. Instead, all I received were phone calls and emails demanding payment with NO comment or response to my enquiry. I would not recommend to anyone to advertise with them, given their apparent methods. --poorservice
