2010-03-16 Chandler Hill Partners is a respected industry leader
Chandler Hill Partners is a well respected and industry leader in the field of career development, executive job search and corporate outplacement. I have recently been hired by Chandler Hill Partners as a certified professional resume writer & career consultant to assist them in several projects over the next few months. I have worked with all the major companies such as Right Management and DBM, Chandler Hill Partners is by far the best experience I have had. The focus on training is superior to anything I have been through. My projects will have me helping Chandler Hill Partners with a few of their Fortune 500 clients manage more than 5,000 individuals through career transition in the next few months.
When you deal with as many clients as Chandler Hill Partners has, you are bound to have a few client issues. The posting on this site regarding the FTC is not about Chandler Hill Partners and is meant to create awareness for the work from home scams, classified ad scams and envelope stuffing scams, and not legitimate businesses such as Chandler Hill Partners.
The FTC post on this site seems odd and I would consider the comment from the site editor, "Please keep in mind the possibility that the posts below are entered by competitors." - Btucson.com Editor.
What impressed me the most with Chandler Hill Partners and why I decided to take on this contract was their past history. Chandler Hill Partners is the go to company for many Fortune 1,000 companies and government agencies. When Katrina hit the gulf coast, Chandler Hill Partners was asked to provide services to the 10's of thousands of individuals displaced and needing employment. Chandler Hill Partners volunteered their services helping thousands find employment.
That says a lot about a company in my opinion.
Do your homework before you make any judgments about a company based on a few postings on the Internet from individuals who have never worked with Chandler Hill Partners. I did my homework and I found that they have been a member of the better business for nearly 20 years and over that time period they have had a dozen or so issues and resolved all of them to the satisfaction of the bureau. Every business has client issues and how that company deals with it is how I measured Chandler Hill Partners. They have an A+ rating with the BBB.
They are the only firm that I am aware of that requires all of their consulting staff to be certified by an outside agency. That's unheard of in this industry and demonstrates their leadership and commitment to quality service.
I hope this posting has helped and I look forward to my work with Chandler Hill Partners.

P.S. I was not asked to make the above comments. I came across this site and felt compelled to share my experience.

2010-02-11 Take a Human Development Course at a Community College for Less !!!! no
You can take the Class "Human Development " 101 for $50.00 or Less at a Community College. They give you all The Personality and Career Testing including the Meyers Brigg test. They teach you how to interview, finding leads and Resume writings. At CHP it reminded me of my 8th Grade class with the questions and the sheet you fax back to them for a second meeting. It was so deja vu. The sheet asking me of my dream job was what my I did in 8th grade. If you want to save some money take the college class and never sign a contract !!! Never !!! A Contract is binding no matter what you sign !!! --guest
2010-01-12 dishonest sales tactics
Before joining Chandler-Hill as a client Mr. Vargo stated that they have the Fortune 1000 companies in the Houston area as corporate clients as well as other major companies. He stated that they would be able to place me in a career position in 30-45 days making $100,000 plus per year, easily, especially with my experience and profile. My 'profile' results showed that only 3% of the people in the country matched my qualifications and profile and that I would be in high demand. He stated that they were charging me the smallest fee possible based on how quickly they would be able to find me a position. He stated that my profile/resume would be sent to all their corporate clients however when asked for proof of this I was given none.
Chandler Hill teaches/trains its' ‘employee’ clients NOT to use the job placement websites or to send your resume to the HR departments, they claim it is a waste of time, yet that is all they do. After nearly 60 days Jon Vargo stated that he would personally get involved and 'reach out' to his contacts and corporate partners on my behalf. After 2 week he failed to do so or prove otherwise. In fact he would not respond to ANY of my emails asking what companies he spoke to on my behalf.
Their 'professional resume writers' don’t really do anything. They make you fill out all kinds of 'assignments' and the software automatically fills in a word document to write the resume. If you ask to have them ‘spice up’ your resume with industry key words they tell you “no, we don’t do that”. Your case manager really only has meetings with you to get you to sign paperwork stating that they are doing their job. If you question them on how they are assisting you the make up excuses and tell you that they can’t move to the next step until you sign the paperwork saying they are doing their job. When I asked to see a list of their ‘Corporate Clients’ or a list of non-search engine positions that they knew about, my case manager got VERY mad at me and YELLED at me and tried to terminate my contract with them. They do not actively assist you in finding a job. Their website and paperwork states one thing but their sales people and case manager verbally tell you anything to keep you coming back and paying them.
They rush you through the process and in and out their door as quickly as possible. After nearly 2 month I have yet to receive a call from anyone that Chandler-Hill supposedly submitted my resume to nor have received a legitimate led from their 'exclusive client list'. The only positions that they have submitted my information for have been found through job search engines, not through their 'exclusive client list'.
I have followed up with all of the companies that Chandler Hill stated that they submitted my resume/information to and half have responded back to me. Half of them responded back to me and have never received my information nor heard of me or Chandler Hill. The positions and companies that the claimed to have submitted my information to never received anything from them. These were valid positions that I could have applied for but since Chandler Hill said that they were submitting for me I did not apply.
I am unemployed and I wasted $5000.00 of what was left of my savings with this firm based upon verbal promises of employment within 30-45 days. Someone needs to expose them and stop other people from falling for this scam! --pcollins
2009-12-08 Not Competitors http://ftc.gov/multimedia/video/scam-watch/job-scams_eileen.shtm
They want us to post our names so they can sue us. [Ed note - bTucson is the one asking for names, not Chandler Hill. That's our standard policy when there's a dispute about who is posting comments.]
I was taken advantage of by Chandler Hill Partners and I plan to keep my identity safe.
If Chandler Hill Partners is not a SCAM, then why does the FTC warn all of us to avoid companies like them!!
Please view the following link to the Federal Trade Commission.

Do not get tricked into this scam. I know it is hard times for all of us who have been laid off or jobless in some other fashion, but please do not let these people fool you. " --guest
2009-11-07 Names required on postings - possible competitor accusations
Editor's note: A Chandler Hill staffer contacted us stating that competitors were making anonymous accusations against Chandler Hill. The staffer stated that Ripoff Report had investigated and found the accusations false: http://www.ripoffreport.com/Employment-Services/Rip-off-Report-Inves/rip-off-report-investigation-9gded.htm
Please keep in mind the possibility that the posts below are entered by competitors. For any new poster, please leave a name and concrete details. Generic 'scam' posts are generally deleted.
If you are a jobhunter, some useful sites are monster.com, careerbuilder.com, dice.com, and craigslist.com. Also remember to network on facebook.com and linkedin.com. Freelance jobs can sometimes be found at guru.com and elance.com but are pretty competitive. --guest

2009-09-29 I didn't know till after I had already gone to the 1st meeting...
I got an email last week asking me to call CHP, as they wanted to interview me. I went to the meeting today all dressed up and ready to make some headway in my job search. HA! I think not! It became clear toward the end of the meeting that it was a scam, so I called my HR friend (in the biz for 20 years) and told him about what happened to me - he was able to tell me what happened in the meeting before I even shared it with him. Evidently, Chandler Hill is just another of the many cookie cutter scams that are preying on the unemployed. I now feel bad for the other poor souls that were there today unknowingly being robbed. WOW! Glad I got the scoop from my bud b4 going any further." --guest

RUN! Do yourself a favor and do not get involved. All they will do is just teach you how to contact employers and most of them are not even interested in talking to you anyways. They talk big but do not produce realistic results.

2009-08-23 My Experience
I had anexperience with them also. It sounded way to good to be true. They were going to find me a $150,000 job. They have a good line of BS. I would be happy to pay if it was due after I found a job, but they wont do that. In my gut I knew it was a scam, but they made it sound great. I steered clear. A company thay preys on people in their darkest hour is the definition of a lowlife. --guest

2009-04-29 Question
For those of you that have had dealings with this company already. Do they charge for their services or are they a "headhunter" that is free and the employers pay? The reason I ask is because my husband had an "interview" with them today and then told me they wanted to meet with me and I just find that odd and strange. He also does not know how they got his resume and it was my understanding that they didn't tell him. I'm doing my research on this company because I just find it odd and I'm not paying anyone to find me a job. --guest
2009-03-16 Interesting
Great Success, interesting you have been a customer for 5 months but do not indicate they have had success in finding you a job! They called me after reviewing my resume that I never sent them! Sounds like a sales call to me, even make it sound like an employer calling for an interview and do not represent themselves as an agency, very unethical." --guest
2009-03-11 Great Success
I am having a different experience all together. I have been a client of Chandler Hill Partners for about 5 months. I have been given a process that has open the doors of opportunity for me to advance my career. I don't see how this gentlemen without using the service can guess how they do business. I have had nothing but a positive experience with Chandler Hill Partners --guest
2009-02-18 Chandler Hill Scam
I was called by Chandler Hill Partners (CHP) for an interview. It was a sale pitch to get me to pay for the privilidge for them to teach me how to interview and have acess to their "Database". It was a total scam. If you need to be coached for an interview you have no business being there in the first place and you should get weeded out. I tried to post my commnet on RIPOFF.COM but CHP has paid the extortion fee and it willnever get posted. I am not competitor, I am Mr. Brown from Powder Springs GA. I was shocked to see the people there that really needed a job and how they are taken advantage of in their time of need. You will go though about three months of "PREP", which is how long it takes to pay. YOU ARE YOUR OWN BEST SALESPERSON--DONT GET RIPPED OFF. Approach with caution, ask questions and insist on the answers in writting. You will excorted out the front door as was I. Remember, if a person won't put in writting, there is a reason." --guest
