Relates to: Shopnatural CooperativeIT WASN'T COMPETITIONRegarding the comment: "in the end it was quashed out of business by big corporations." The reason ShopNatural closed was NOT due to competition; there is a huge demand for organic and natural foods, and there is plenty of room for all players. Simply look at all of the options out there. Basically, the place was mis-managed. The General Manager was reactive rather than a planner, and could not make a well reasoned, thoughtful decision. Nor would she allow anyone else to make a decision. The business was driven into the ground by her indecision and incompetence, and her fear AND anger towards anyone else who might have an opinion or suggestion. So the place languished while other businesses in the same environment thrived. It could have been otherwise!" |
