Relates to: Tucson Orthopaedic Institute PCOverviewI too have had a similar experience with TOI. It seems that the kindness once extended to patients is only made available if you threaten to set yourself on fire!Everyone I know that's had surgery at TOI in the last couple of years complains about follow-up and after-care, and this includes other physicians as well as the general public, (not to mention family members and friends caring for the patient post opt). Phone calls not being returned after surgery, bedside manner and lack thereof, and the awful, terrible feeling you get when the thought runs through your mind that perhaps. Who looks for this, or even imagines it, when they put their health and well-being into the hands of the surgeon??? As far as the skill level at TOI, I think it would be hard to find another surgical group that can top them, and, afterall, that's the bottom line. However, at the same time, compassion and actual interest in the patient's concerns is paramont to the patients healing process - so I guess what I'm trying to say here is that there are two bottom lines. Thank you for providing this gripe space." |
