Terrible Service at Sunrise Cafe

    I stopped in at Sunrise Cafe this morning, went to the counter, and ordered coffee and a bagel. I was told it would be "just a minute" while they toasted the bagel. I stood and waited there while the counter person kept telling it would only be "just a couple minutes more". After what seemed forever, one of the kitchen personnel walked out. I politely excused myself for interrupting her, but said that I had waited almost half an hour for a toasted bagel. She replied that they were busy. I said that I could understand that, but that it should not take thirty minutes to toast a bagel. Instead of going intro the kitchen to check on my order, she went to the cash register, pulled out the tape, and told me that I had ordered at 9:12 and had only been waiting ten minutes! Since it was past 9:30, I suggested to her that her math was wrong. She replied that I should feel free not to return, walked into the kitchen and returned with the wrapped bagel. The delay was annoying, but her rudeness was unacceptable. I will never go back there."

Needless to say, I never heard for the restaurant owner. Rumor has it that this place has closed. I certainly understand why. --guest

2008-08-30 RE: Terrible Service at Sunrise Cafe
I've read your review after hearing from a customer this evening about your review.  I am an employee at the concerned cafe and have been so now for several months.  As for your experience, I am unaware of what occured second to what I've read here.  First and foremost, I apologize for your experience and more so that you feel that your concerns were not addressed in a dignified way.

In order to best address your concern, I will inform our owner of this review so that he can address this personally.  I apologize that we have lost your business and I hope that in time, you will return to our cafe and give the rest of us an opportunity to earn your business.
