2009-06-15 General Manager of A-Atlas/ Rita Ranch

I have rented from A- Atlas at the Rita Ranch location over the years. The past two years have been consecutive. I have had to worst experience with the General Manager of this location. I believe there is other locations like A-Family Storage as well that she "manages. There have been so many different people that work in the office due to the high turnover rate, no one is ever saying the correct thing. My grace period for my due date I was told from one of the prior employees and manager at that time that it the grace period was five days. In a nutshell there was a disagreement in the late charges and the general manager was so unprofessional, having kids screaming in the background and pushing buttons on the phone while she was talking on the phone. She stated she did not care what happens and did not care if the employees the she manages tell me the wrong information. I will be moving my things out this month, they do not deserves another dime from me, of course they are demanding I pay the late fee in order to have access to my storage so since its late I will just pay later this month. But I know not to deal with this location or this general manager again. I hope she know how you do others in comes back ten fold. --guest

2009-03-23 I have had good service with A Atlas http://aatlasdiscountstorage.com/Locations/

I am surprised so many people have had such a bad experience with A-Atlas, now A-Family storage.

I have been renting from them since 2004 and have had consistently good service. Jett, the last manager I talked to, was especially good. Only one manager was rude but she didn't last long. The units are well insulated on the ceilings which is rare.

I also rent from National Self Storage which became U-Store-It and have had much worse service. That place used to be really good then toward the end of it being National they replaced a husband and wife with rotating managers and then U-Store-It took over. I have rented from them for over 8 years and they have raised my rent so many times it is ridiculous. Their unit gets so hot tons of my stuff has been ruined too.

A-Family has never raised it, which shows me they value long term customers and have a good business model (invest in the customers who pay on time and are your livelihood). By the way, I rent at the Speedway/Camino Seco location so maybe it is all about which location you get. --guest

2009-02-03 The worst customer service
A Atlas has changed their name to A Family their horrible customer service is still the same.

[a worker] at the office on 22nd near Pantano will do everything she give her clients a hard time.  I've even heard her yell at a new client for driving through the gate, not knowing her policy because he was new.

I have had two bad experiences myself.  They held my check the first time for over 90 days, then tried to cash it after my account and been compromised.  After five years of on time payments and paying in advance, they decided to never accept my checks or debit card from my new account.  She said my money was no good.

I am now looking for a new facility.

2008-10-27 I like A-Atlas!
I have rented at the A-Atlas off Thorneydale since it opened and have been very happy with my experience.  Maybe if you rented at a storage co that was owned by a huge conglomerate, that raised your rent every three months, and entered your unit whenever they could think of a good excuse, and some of your stuff was missing, like I did, you would like A-Atlas better.  The one I go to is really clean and the manager is nice to me.  I have them charge my credit card every month automatically so I don't have to worry about being late.  And my friend had everything in her garage ruined by pack rats to I guess desert pests can happen anywhere.  I just think Tucson should support a locally owned company. --guest

2008-06-10 Beware of Termites
Again the Swan unit has poor customer service.  Our unit has termites and we lost a bed, a dresser, and many boxes to termites.  The manager of the unit said that they have a pest control service which sprays the units.  I don't know how they can treat termites from the outside with spray when the only way to treat them is to drill the slab and treat the sub-grade.  They refuse to inform all of the units around my unit because as the general manager stated "Just because one unit may have them doesn't mean all other units have them.  The termites don't crawl."  I asked for a rebate and was informed that it was my problem not theirs.  I am glad that I did not store my business records there.  " --guest

2007-09-28 Unhappy Customer
I had rented a unit at 8801 E Tanque Verde for 3years (8/10/04-8/22/07).  During that time I had also rented a second unit for my business. I gave a 30day notice that I would be moving out.  I had moved out the things I wanted and had items left over.  I was told that they did not have anyone to remove the unwanted items so I paid a company to remove the items and clean the unit.
The first date they had available was 22 August which is the date that rent would be due.  They came that morning, everything was remove and unit clean by 11am.  A Atlas has sent notice to pay a months rent on an empty unit.  I was a loyal customer for 3years.  I think this is bad customer service and I will not recommend them when there are so many others in my area.  They have sent my bill to collections saying I have abandon my unit.  pwillingh@aol.com" --guest
