Hello,
I’m an AmeriCorps*VISTA Disaster Preparedness volunteer working out of the Volunteer Center of Southern Arizona. My focus is on capacity building for C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) recruitment within Pima County.
CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT is delivered in the community by a team of first responders who have the requisite knowledge and skills to instruct the sessions. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. This is a free program.
If interested please contact me for further information. I look forward to your response. My email is jforish at volunteersoaz.org or you can call 520-881-3300x140
