I have found all the staff at the clinic to be friendly and very helpful. The clinic is also affordable and your pet is very well taken care of. Thank you Dr. Edwards and staff. I highly recommend this clinic. --guest
2008-09-27 We love Dr. Edwards and staff
I am a client of Dr. Edwards. She has seen my kitties 3 times. I am happy to have a regular vet in a convenient location but even happier with the fact that Dr. Edwards and her staff are always patient and kind with my two cats. One of my furchildren in particular is not pleasant nor happy about going to the vet, but they are very no-nonsense and practical with her and accomodating of me staying in the room to assist with my spoiled hell-cat! Dr. Edwards is affordable and it's easy to get an appointment. When I call with a question, the staff has answers. They call back the same day. One thing I REALLY like about Dr. Edwards is that the emphasis is on the cat...not the human. She will recommend the food you should be feeding, give explicit directions about the meds she perscribes, and seems to be delighted to see my cats when they need medical assistance or just a checkup. I would recommend her without reservation. People need to be proactive with their pets. You should always ask what possible fees will be charged before treatment, options of treatment, and be very forthcoming about exactly what is 'wrong' with your pet, with a history of the food eaten, the description of symptoms, etc. Most people I know dont even know how old their animals are, or notice when there is a change in their behavior indicating problems until it is way too late. Remember, the little creatures can live for over 20 years! Pets are not toys to be tossed away when you get bored with their needs. If you cannot afford to provide them with quality care and feed them correctly, if you cannot do the research necessary to determine their needs, if you cant spend the time with your pets required to let them live happy and fulfilled lives, do everyone a favor...dont get one! Without a doubt ALWAYS SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR ANIMALS. " --guest
2008-07-29 OUTSTANDING VET !!!
I recently found out about Dr. Edwards and the Arizona Small Animal Clinic after a stranger referred me to her as an affordable vet in my area. I've only been taking my animals to Dr. Edwards for a short time, but she -- and her entire office staff -- are absolutely amazing! I am involved in breed-specific dog rescue, and we tend to visit the vets' office quite often. I never worry about not being able to afford a visit, she is SO reasonable!! I've seen several other vets in town, and none have treated myself or my animals as well as Dr. Edwards.
Now I tell EVERYONE that asks who my vet is -- as before I couldn't make a good recommendation. THANK YOU, DR. EDWARDS!!!
PS: I totally agree with the previous comment. Dr. Edwards AND her staff get right down on the ground for my pups. Even though a few of them could probably be safely up on the table, she goes out of her way to make eveyone comfortable and will spend as much time as your need - anwering questions, etc." --guest
2008-06-04 Wonderful vet from long-time client
Dr Edwards has been my veternarian since 1993 and has always provided sensitive, up to date and reasonably priced treatment to dogs, cats, hamsters and whatever else we brought in. She has helped strays and rescued birds at no or reduced cost and also will hold them for pickup by rehabbers.
I appreciate especially that Dr Edwards gets down on the floor with my dogs instead of insisting on placing them on the slippery exam table. She has helped with practical advice on training and nutrition as well as veterinary care and never hesitates to refer to SW Vet Specialists or other specialists when necessary. --gv
2008-01-24 That was five years ago!
Give Dr. Edwards a break... The repremand was five years ago! Would I be angry if that were my pet? Absolutely! People learn from their mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance. I brought my kitten to Dr. Edwards and she and her staff have been nothing but professional. The lesson here "to err is human, to forgive divine"."" --guest
2007-06-11 Hamster advice
Brought our aging Hamsters to Dr Edwards, and she told us we should change the bedding and food we were using. Her advice:
Bedding: use Harmony, Carefresh or Yesterday's News brands
Food: use a pellet-type high quality rat food, not the seed mix that is more commonly sold. The pet store staff at Tropical Kingdom agreed with this advice, that it would help them live longer.
So far the little beasts are doing well on the new regime, at least as well as can be expected for 2.5 year old hamsters. We bought Yesterday's News, it holds up better (less stuck to the cage bottom) and they don't put it in their cheek pouches at all which they had done sometimes with the corn cob bedding we were using before. --gtest4
