Report from the Peace Fair

We made a quick pass thru the Peace Fair last Sat (2/24/07) - nice sunny weather let us visit booths ranging from Amnesty Intl to protecting Jaguars in the Southwest.  Low-key, this was an informational fair and not an anti-war rally.

We learned more about the Paulo Freire Freedom School which explicitly combines education with a focus on social justice and environmental sustainabilty.  We played an African instrument called a Karimba (I think) that has an interesting arrangement of notes - odd notes on the left side and even notes on the right side.  Then we signed some petitions, Ruby (my 2 yr old) sampled the candy, met with our friends from the Democratic Playgroup and took off for the library.

More on some of the environmental groups and organizations posted in the community area...
