2008-12-27 Tucson Time Capsule : plants returned to club's care (starnet-local)
http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/metro/273470.php
The plants these Future Farmers of America were moving on Dec. 27, 1983, were well-traveled. In 1980, previous FFA members at Flowing Wells High School had started the 5,800 seedlings and then sold them to a wholesale nursery. The group was paid to care for them at the nursery. But the location was not convenient for most of the students, and there was also a problem with the rabbits, who kept eating the sprinkling system. So the plants were being moved back to the school. The club would be paid for taking care of them on campus, and the members would learn all phases of a nursery operation.
