Robert Canchola, the former Santa Cruz County schools superintendent who pleaded guilty to a felony and resigned last year, has resurfaced in education as an employee at a West Side elementary school.

It's interesting that this guy was hired by TUSD DESPITE the background checks we all have to supposedly go through before we're offered a position.  Maybe I'm just bitter because Canchola was my "Legal and ETHICAL Issues in Education" prof right before he got ARRESTED for stealing money from district funds meant to go to students.  Talk about irony.

And that this guy is being groomed to be a PRINCIPAL through Leadership Academy---clearly, someone pulled strings here (Conchola's dad has been a prominent politician/businessman in Nogales for years).  TUSD cronyism at its finest.  This story was all over the news when he was caught and tried on the embezzlement charges.  There is NO WAY it could have escaped TUSD admin's attention.

And nary a peep of outrage from the community.  Disgusting, seriously." --guest
