2010-10-04 Arizona 'state of biggest concern' in voting rights report
http://www.demos.org/swingstate/AZstate_facts.pdf
In Arizona, anyone can go and 'challenge' a voter, without even having to put their name on record. And if you show up at the wrong precinct on election day?  Don't try to cast a provisional ballot, it won't be counted.

Arizona is the only state that requires documented proof of citizenship in order to register to vote.  Having to have 'papers' to prove one's citizenship is not the norm in the United States.  Arizona also lacks specific laws which a number of other states have to prevent campaigns of harassment or disinformation against groups of voters.

Volunteering to reach out to citizens and make sure that people know their rights and are not intimidated may be a key factor in several close races in the 2010 elections.

On the positive side, we're good at notifying new ...read more...

Phoenix - Jan Brewer has never hesitated to attack the welfare of our children. Later today, in a stunning display of hypocrisy, she is scheduled to declare this 'Arizona's Child Health Day.' Yet, her cuts to children's healthcare and education are the meanest and most devastating Arizona has ever experienced.

"At the beginning of this year, Jan Brewer tossed tens of thousands of children off of Arizona's KidsCare health insurance," said Attorney General Terry Goddard.
