2009-07-26 A WONDERFUL SCHOOL ENDING
I am sad to know Turning point might be closing it's doors August 1st 2009.  What an impact this school has made on my child and many others.  She had struggles up to 5th grade with dyslexia, with no help from the public schools.  Just as it stated from the 2006 comment above, the public schools would just pass her along. My daughter was at a 1st grade reading and writing level and struggling with self esteem issues caused by the public schools.  Turning Point gave my daughter confidence, security, and brought my child’s grade level up to a decent level, in just 3 years, and now she enjoys reading and writing and her math has excelled.  My husband is also a past student of Mrs. Von Wald and it's because of her he has excelled in life and has a stable job. Mrs. Von Wald is an amazing human being, she genuinely cares about the children’s well being.  She understands how us parents struggle to keep our children from being loss by the public school systems, especially in these hard economic times.  I pray whoever reads this comment can find it in their heart to assist us parents, children and the staff of Turning point, in keeping this school alive.  Our children need this school and depend on it.  Please help me fight to keep Turning Point from closing it’s doors forever.

Please call the number shown above for any assistance.
Thank you

In 1990 I went to TPS and Nancy Von Wald was the principle back then still. I was 13 and could not read or right do to the lack of knowledge of how to teach a dyslexic child like myself in the public school system. So I was passed threw just like many of others. TPS taught me so much, I owe them my deepest gratitude for teaching,  supporting me in my uphill struggle to catch up to here I should have been in my education, and being my friend even at times. Yes Nancy Von Wald is a people person. She loves to joke and talk. But that doesn’t mean that her or her school is any less then wonderful. I am now sending my daughter to TPS for her to learn how to deal with her own dyslexia issues. --guest
