Tucson Has It 6/1 - 6/30, a month-long promotion encouraging you to visit areas museums, focuses attention on local history, art, and science. Special events aim to help you discover what these places have to offer: Arizona Historical Society, Arizona State Museum, Center for Creative Photography, Flandrau Science Center, International Wildlife Museum, Pima Air and Space Museum, Tohono Chul Park, Tucson Botanical Gardens, Tucson Children's Museum, Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block, and the U of A Museum of Art. Club Kidz: Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Tucson Mall's food court, the Russian Balalaika Orchestra hits the mall's stage, featuring folk music, silly costumes and strange musical instruments.

Tinsley Ellis: Wednesday at 9 p.m., the guitarist and vocalist will play with his backing band at the Boondocks Lounge, 3306 N. First Ave. Listen to one of his five solo albums and you'll understand why Atlanta native Ellis, 41, is often depicted with flames coming from his guitar. Tickets cost $12, but you can get $2 off by buying them in advance at the nightclub or being a member of the Tucson Blues Society.

"Moon Stroll": Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., the Valley of the Moon, 2544 E. Allen Road, invites children and adults to stroll through the pathways, caverns, pools and gardens of this park built of rock and imagination. Free, but donations are accepted for restoration and maintenance of the property.

4th Annual Ronald McDonald House Golf Classic lets you test your golf skills and your weather hardiness. The 4-person scramble format is complemented by prizes for the 1st hole-in-one, longest drive, and closest ball to the pin on par 3. Unique Boutique: Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., more than 80 artisans will offer handcrafted gifts and home decorations at Gridley Midle School, 350 S. Harrison Road.

Downtown Saturday Night; Saturday, 7-10 p.m., the entertainment in the Downtown Arts District will focus on African-American celebrations with the national touring group Harare, a new commissioned work by Barbea Williams, and Denise Hawthorne Bey struttin' her stuff. Shops, restaurants and galleries stay open late and there's plenty of free parking.

"Sommerfest": The German-American Club of Tucson will host its summer festival Saturday at the Tucson Woman's Club, 6245 E. Bellevue St. Tom Chestnut will provide music for dancing, 7-11 p.m. Doors open at 6:30. $10.

Kid's Day at El Con Mall: Saturday at 10 a.m., in the center court of the mall, 3601 E. Broadway, parents can sign up their kids for classes, activities and fun stuff around Tucson. Attractions at the mall include magician Bill McRea at 10 a.m.; Playmaxx Y0-Yo, 11 a.m.; Mad Science, 11:30 a.m.; Sunshine Generation, 11:45 a.m.; Arizona Youth Theater, 12:30 p.m.; a Tucson dance company, 1 p.m.; Kids Unlimited, 2 p.m.; and KoSho karate demonstration, 3:15 p.m.

Buckles the Car; Ice Cream Making: Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Tucson Children's Museum, 200 S. Sixth Ave., is the unveiling of the museum's automobile safety exhibit, designed to give children hands-on experience buckling seat belts for themselves and for babies and toddlers in car seats. After the unveiling, stay for ice cream making. Free, with museum admission: $5 general, $4 seniors, $3 for children 2-16.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Saturday Evenings 6/6, 6/13, 6/20 & 6/27. This gives you a chance to explore desert-style nightlife. Select paths and exhibits are lit so you can see desert critters in action. Interpretive programs focus on night animals, such as bats, owls, and spiders. There are also storytelling and lectures. The museum's eateries and gift shop also are open. Saturdays through Oct. 31. $8.95/$1.75 children ages 6-12. 6-10 p.m. 2021 N. Kinney Rd. Phone 883-2702.

Tucson Sidewinders the former Tucson Toros, now the AAA team of major league baseball's new Phoenix Diamondbacks. The famous Chicken makes an appearance June 26. Three Dog Night: Sunday at 8 p.m., the '70 pop-rock band will perform at The Outback, 296 N. Stone Ave. Led by the duo of Cory Wells and Danny Hutton , this hit-making group is celebrating 30 years in the music business. It's more than likely it will perform many of its Top 40 hits, including "One," "Easy to be Hard," "Mama Told me (Not to Come)," "An Old Fashioned Love Song," "Black & White" and "Joy to the World." Advance tickets cost $12.50 at the Outback and Audio Express; $15 the day of the show.

Tucson Pops Orchestra, Jean-Louis Kashy, Davd Sitton: Sunday at 7 p.m., Tucson Symphoy Orchestra flutist Kashy and narrator Sitton perform in a concert conducted by Laszlo Veres at the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center in Reid Park, near East 22nd Street and South Country Club Road. Free. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., a shuttle service to DeMeester will run from the Randolph Park Municipal Golf Course parking lot on South Alvernon Way, just north of East 22nd Street.

Children's Artwork gets its annual showing in Creative Visions at Tohono Chul Park. This month's feature is paintings, drawings, and clay-and-papier-mache sculptures from elementary schools in the Catalina Foothills School District. Through July. $2 suggested donation. Moon Stroll: Wander and wonder at your leisure through the pathways, caverns, polls and gardens of the Valley of the Moon Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. Admission to this Arizona Historic District is free, but donations for restoration and maintenance are appreciated. The location is 2544 E. Allen Road, just north of Prince and east of Tucson Boulevard.

"Zoo to You": Thursday, 1-2 p.m., Guy Belleranti, Ed Blum and Frann Miescher, docents from Reid Park Zoo, will present an animal storytime and puppet show at The Parent Connection activities center, 5326 E. Pima St. Meet Henry the Hedgehog and Curious George the monkey.

Father's Day Ice Cream Social at Reid Park Zoo celebrates dads. The zoo stays open later than usual, so stroll the grounds. The kids can enjoy face painting, parachute games, and educational stations where they can learn about wildlife. The Park After Dark Tohono Chul Park is the setting for this nocturnal exploration of the Sonora Desert, held in conjunction with the Tucson HAS IT! Promotion. Events include an opening reception, demonstrations and discussions about bats, nighttime insects, and night-blooming plants.
